ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Situated in Sheffield, we are a small, warm and friendly independent dental practice. We are committed to providing high standards of dental care to our patients. We focus on preventative dentistry and listening to the needs of our patients. Our whole team have a great deal of expertise in dentistry and regularly undertake further training to keep up with the ever changing world of dentistry.

Offering a high quality of general dentistry, we also offer advanced treatments such as complex restorative work, Invisalign, endodontics, dental implants, smile makeovers, dental hygiene and facial aesthetics. We believe in ‘Minimally invasive dentistry’, a respect for the original tissue of the teeth, and always try to ensure our patients keep as much of their natural tooth structure as possible

Abdurahman El-Awa (Abs) is a Consultant in Oral Surgery. He has extensive experience in Oral Surgery and has a special interest in Dental Implants, Bone Grafting procedures, as well as providing Sedation for nervous dental patients. He is renowned for his calm and patient chairside manner.
Abs qualified in 2003 in Cairo and moved to the UK in 2006 to embark upon specialist training in Oral Surgery. Since then he has trained in Glasgow Dental School, Glasgow Southern General Hospitals, Sheffield Dental School, Sheffield University Hospitals and Royal Derby Hospitals. Abs has completed postgraduate training and specialist clinical experience in Oral Surgery. He is a member of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England and helps to examine oral surgery trainee specialist surgeons.
Abs worked as a Consultant Oral Surgeon at Manchester Teaching Hospitals and currently is a Consultant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals where he teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate dentists and dental students.
In his spare time Abs enjoys trail running, fishing and scuba diving.

Meet Aleena, a friendly and skilled dentist dedicated to ensuring every visit to Ecclesall Dental Care is a positive experience. With a focus on providing high-quality, patient-centered care, Aleena works hard to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all her patients.
A 2022 graduate from the University of Sheffield, Aleena’s passion for dentistry is matched by her love for adventure. Outside of the practice, she enjoys travelling the world and baking delicious treats—her cookies are almost as sweet as the care she provides!
With a warm and approachable personality, Aleena is committed to making sure every patient feels relaxed and well taken care of during their visit.

After graduating in London, I began my career in Cambridge with Cambridgeshire Community Dental Services before moving to Sheffield to undertake a Dental Core Trainee post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. These roles have provided me with invaluable exposure to a diverse patient demographic, from highly anxious individuals to those undergoing treatment for oral cancer and facial trauma.
This experience has deepened my appreciation for holistic patient care, which I have seamlessly integrated into my career in General Dentistry. I take great pride in building strong relationships with my patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease throughout their treatment.
Although originally from London, Sheffield has truly become home!

Ahmed graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Baghdad University in 2012. With over 9 years of clinical experience, he has built a strong reputation for providing high-quality dental care with a focus on patient comfort and long-term oral health.
He holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Conservative Dentistry from Baghdad University and a Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Edinburgh, UK. His advanced training allows him to offer a wide range of treatments that preserve and enhance natural smiles.
In addition to his expertise in conservative and restorative dentistry, Ahmed provides modern aesthetic treatments such as ClearCorrect aligners for discreet orthodontic care and composite bonding to restore and enhance the appearance of teeth.
Ahmed is passionate about combining advanced techniques with a caring approach, ensuring each patient receives personalised treatment to achieve a healthy, confident smile.
